Andre Shomorony, MD, is a highly trained facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon known for his thoughtful approach, technical precision, and commitment to natural-looking results. Academic Excellence and Elite Surgical Training
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Dr. Shomorony immigrated to the United States with his family at age 15 in pursuit of economic stability and expanded educational opportunities. Quickly overcoming institutional, cultural and language barriers, Dr. Shomorony earned a full scholarship to study biomedical engineering at Yale University, where he conducted research in micro-tissue engineering and cancer biology. He went on to receive his medical degree from Harvard Medical School via the prestigious Harvard–MIT Health Sciences and Technology (HST) program, a highly selective physician-scientist track integrating advanced engineering and clinical medicine. Dr. Shomorony completed residency at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital’s Columbia and Cornell campuses with extensive training in complex head and neck surgery. He concluded his formal training with a fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania.
Today, Dr. Shomorony performs the full spectrum of aesthetic and functional facial plastic surgery, with particular expertise in rhinoplasty—both primary surgeries and complex revision cases. He also specializes in blepharoplasty, surgical and non-surgical facial rejuvenation, and advanced hair restoration for both men and women. Dr. Shomorony is board-eligible in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, having completed advanced specialty training and meeting eligibility requirements for certification.
Dr. Shomorony is one of the pioneers in endonasal revision rhinoplasty, and his scholarly work includes articles, book chapters and national presentations on techniques in open, endonasal and preservation rhinoplasty, trends in facial plastic surgery in the post-pandemic era, advanced techniques in facial rejuvenation, and novel biomaterials, tissue engineering and drug delivery technologies. Dr. Shomorony serves on the editorial board of Facial Plastic Surgery, the official journal of the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery, and his research work has been published in Nature Communications, Nano Letters and Facial Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Medicine. Dr. Shomorony was the recipient of the prestigious Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship.
